This weekend, we're going to put the "Bill" in Billings and see how it fits.

For reasons I can't go into right now, we're checking out Billings as a possible place to live. It wouldn't have made my top 25, er, top 50, er, top 100 choices, but sometimes life is like that.

It's a bit scary, because Montana is one of the only states where I don't know a single person.

Could we really live in Billings?

I'm not even going to get started about how it feels, the prospect of leaving friends and family behind. But sometimes you have to do what you have to do. The rents in New York, along with the stipulation that we must live in the city (Chuck's job), make this a really tough place to get ahead.

And on the other hand: It's a new adventure! I have loved living in the West before (Denver, Phoenix), and even though this is a smaller city, it could be an amazing life experience.

Of course, the thing that would need to happen to make this a possibility hasn't happened yet. Cart, meet horse. Horse, meet cart. You know, that thing that's always being put before you?
